A UNIQUE WINE AS 2500 YEARS AGO

A unique wine from organic and biodynamic farming  without GMO and without any  chemical element. The grape juice from hand-picked grapes is put into the amphoras which are insulated with natural resins and beeswax and are then buried 3 meters under the soil for many  years as the ancient Etruscans did 2500 years ago

OUR HISTORY

THE ETRUSCAN WINEMAKING METHOD

The Bio agricultural company  Tarazona Miriam

was born in Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany, with the idea of producing only natural and organic products. After 18 years of studies we are proud to to present  our Etruscan wine

In the year 2000 we had the idea about creating a wine that faithfully reproduces the method used by the ancient Etruscans.. The project began with the help of Archaeologists, including Prof. Maurizio Pellegrini, past Director  of the Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome , Geologists, in order to understand the composition of our territory, Doctors in Agriculture in order to start with the  organic and biodynamic agriculture. Last but not least the help of the oenologist Guido Fatucchi

THE TERRITORY

Our micro-climate, the old vineyards and the care we had  for our soil also helped us to start with our project. Our southwest facing wineyards  Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Albana, Trebbiano and Malvasia are situated at 350 meters above sea level  and they were planted in 1960 by Grandad Lorenzo. The soil is mainly composed of calcareous material called "bisciaio" with only 30-80cm of earth, so ideal for vines and olive trees.

MONDINI'S WINE MAKING METHOD

Much time was dedicated to the study and design of the jars in which to rest and mature the wine.

Soon began the studies for the internal insulation of the jars that are mainly insulated with  beeswax, resins and other natural components. In 2015 this process became a part of our  vine-making method called "Mondini's method"

With the beeswax of my production I completed the research of the raw materials necessary for the the new wine- making method

In 2003 I was able to produce the first suitable wine, ideal for a modern palate. The acidity was considerably lower than the past produced wine , the ruby red color was much brighter, the aromas were more intense, the taste slightly different (for the release of minerals) and with  great surprise even the degree was half a degree more than the wine vinified in the cellar .

In 2009, to my great satisfaction, I was mastering  the new wine-making method.

THE DREAM

On 4 December 2013, UNESCO recognized the  the Vine-maing method in jars(Qvevri) in Georgia. Our farm had the necessary authorizations to produce the first Etruscan-certified Wine.

In 2014 the first collection of "official" jars had just been buried in the jars' hill,

The DREAM had come true after many years of hard work, studies and a lot of passion and love for their land

.

OUR VALUES

Our philosophy is to produce genuine products, totally natural , that have disappeared from the trade but are fundamental for our wellbeing. Our  brand called Rasenna in Tuscany  is connected to our origins, in fact the Etruscans among them called themselves Rasenna.

"There is nothing better than a good glass of natural wine"

The art of making vine  arrived in Italy probably in the second millennium BC. The Etruscans were very fond of wine, that wine was considered a drink connecting people and civilizations more than anything else. For the Etruscans wine was considered a great cultural vector.
